Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your Morocco tour.
Our Choice of Accommodation
We have carefully sourced the accommodation for our Morocco tours. We feel that all of the accommodation on our extensive list of tours represents and reflects the culture of the villages, towns, cities, and desert regions we visit throughout Morocco. Whether we organise standard or luxury accommodation, we make sure it is comfortable, atmospheric, and full of character. It is important to us that the accommodation connects with our customers and reflects authentic Moroccan design and personality. Our Moroccan tours are authentic and full of character, and it's important that the accommodation we use is an extension of this.
What Tour Prices Include
Our tour prices typically include: airport transfers (when stated in itinerary), accommodation transfers, air-conditioned 4x4 vehicles, fuel charges, private driver, guide fees, breakfasts, lunch (when stated in itinerary), dinner (when stated in itinerary), accommodations, camel excursions and trekking in Sahara, and informal sand boarding experiences in Sahara.
Currency
All tours are quoted in Euros and are payable in Euros or Moroccan Dirham.
How to Request a Tour Price
Prices with pre-existing itineraries are available on request. Prices vary according to the numerous factors involved in a tour — for example, the number of guests in your party, the time of year you are traveling, and any additional experiences you might wish to incorporate into your tour. All of these variables make it unrealistic for us to list specific prices in advance. For this reason, we ask that you please contact us regarding the tour you are interested in so that we can quote you an accurate and fair price.
Custom Tours in Morocco
You may wish to arrange a custom tour to suit your specific wishes, requirements, time frame, and budget. We will be happy to offer suggested itineraries providing you with a considered and unique tour, enhancing whatever you have in mind. The price of customized Morocco tours varies depending on the activities and duration; we can provide you with a quote once we have factored in your specific travel and accommodation requirements. Please complete and submit our custom tour inquiry form to enable us to begin the process of crafting our proposal and your exclusive Morocco tour.
What is the best time to visit Morocco?
The best times for a Morocco tour are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when temperatures are pleasant across all regions. Summer can be very hot in the Sahara (40°C+), while winter nights in the desert can drop below 0°C — though days remain sunny and beautiful. The imperial cities like Fez and Marrakech are enjoyable year-round.
Are the tours private?
Yes, all Fez Cultural Tours are 100% private. You will never share your vehicle or guide with strangers. Every tour is exclusively for you and your group, allowing us to tailor the pace and stops to your preferences.
How do I book a tour?
Simply contact Fez Cultural Tours directly via WhatsApp (+212 697 540 383) or email us at contact@fezculturaltours.com. We respond within 1 hour with a personalized quote and itinerary. No deposit required to inquire.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
Absolutely. Fez Cultural Tours accommodates vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal dietary requirements. Please inform us at the time of booking and we will ensure all meals meet your needs throughout the tour.
Do you offer group discounts or family pricing?
Yes. Groups of 4 or more people receive a 15% discount on the per-person tour price. Groups of 6 or more receive 20% off. For families: children under 5 travel free (sharing accommodation with parents). Children aged 5–11 receive a 30% discount. Teenagers (12–17) receive a 10% discount. Please mention your group composition when contacting us and we will apply the correct pricing to your personalized quote.
Do I need a visa to visit Morocco?
Citizens of most Western countries — including the USA, UK, EU countries, Canada, and Australia — do not need a visa for Morocco for stays up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. We recommend checking with your local Moroccan embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date entry requirements for your nationality.
Is Morocco safe for tourists?
Yes, Morocco is generally a very safe country for tourists and is one of the most visited destinations in Africa. Fez, Marrakech, and the Sahara region all welcome millions of visitors each year. Our private tours ensure you are always accompanied by an experienced local guide who knows the area well. As with any destination, we advise common-sense precautions: keep valuables secure, be aware of your surroundings in busy souks, and follow your guide's advice. Solo female travelers are very welcome on our tours.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
We understand plans can change. Cancellations made 30+ days before departure receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations 15–29 days before departure forfeit 50% of the deposit. Cancellations less than 15 days before departure forfeit the full deposit. The remainder of tour cost (paid on arrival) is fully refundable up to 48 hours before departure. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation.
How much deposit is required to confirm a booking?
We require a small deposit of 20% of the total tour cost to confirm your booking and reserve your dates. The remaining 80% is paid in cash (Euros or Moroccan Dirham) to your guide on the first day of the tour. No hidden fees. No surprises.
Are airport transfers included?
Airport transfers are included when specifically stated in the tour itinerary. For tours that do not include airport pickup, we are happy to arrange a private transfer at an additional cost. Please mention your arrival airport and flight details when you contact us and we will arrange everything.
Is tipping expected in Morocco?
Tipping is not mandatory but is greatly appreciated. As a guideline: drivers typically receive €5–€10 per day, guides €10–€15 per day, and hotel/riad staff €1–€2 per service. At restaurants, 10–15% of the bill is appreciated if service is not included. Tips are entirely at your discretion — your guides will never ask or pressure you.
Can children join the tours?
Yes, our tours are family-friendly and children of all ages are welcome. We adjust the pace and activities to suit families. Children under 5 travel free (sharing a bed with parents). Children aged 5–11 receive a 30% discount on the tour price. Please let us know the ages of children in your group when requesting a quote so we can plan meals, accommodation, and activities accordingly.
What should I pack for a Morocco tour?
Essentials include: lightweight, breathable clothing (Morocco is warm most of the year), a light jacket or fleece for desert nights and Atlas mountains (temperatures can drop significantly), comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and sunglasses, a headscarf (optional, but useful when visiting mosques or conservative areas), a power adapter (Type C/E), and any prescription medication. We recommend a small day bag for excursions. A full packing list is available on request.
What is the dress code in Morocco?
Morocco is a Muslim country and modest dress is respectful, especially in medinas and religious sites. For women, covering shoulders and knees is recommended — loose trousers or long skirts and tops with sleeves are ideal. Men should avoid very short shorts in traditional areas. On the beach or at tourist resorts, normal Western clothing is perfectly fine. In the desert camp, comfort is key — casual and relaxed clothing works well.
Do I need any vaccinations for Morocco?
No specific vaccinations are legally required to enter Morocco. However, it is generally recommended to be up to date on routine vaccinations (MMR, tetanus, etc.). Some travelers choose Hepatitis A vaccination as a precaution. We recommend consulting your GP or a travel health clinic at least 4–6 weeks before departure. Morocco has a good standard of medical care in major cities, and our guides know the locations of pharmacies and hospitals.
