Merzouga & The Sahara

Golden dunes, camel treks, and a sky full of stars

About Merzouga & The Sahara

The Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga are among the most photogenic landscapes in Africa. Fed by wind-blown sand from the Algerian desert, these towering golden formations change color dramatically from pale gold at noon to deep orange and crimson at sunset.

A camel trek into the dunes at sunset, followed by a night in a luxury Berber desert camp under the Milky Way, is an experience that stays with travelers for life. The silence of the Sahara at night is unlike anything else — broken only by the sound of Berber music around a campfire.

Beyond the dunes, the Merzouga region offers encounters with nomadic families, visits to oasis villages, and explorations of ancient fossils embedded in the local rock. The nearby town of Rissani is home to one of Morocco's most authentic weekly souks.

Fez Medina Guided Tour — Half Day & Full Day

Fez el-Bali is the world's largest car-free urban area and one of the most extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage sites on earth. With 9,000 alleys, no street signs, and a living medieval economy still operating exactly as it has for a thousand years, it is impossible to navigate meaningfully alone. Our guides are not hired staff — they were born inside the medina. Omar and Issam grew up in Fez el-Bali, went to school steps from the tanneries, and know every family, every craftsman, and every hidden doorway. Choose the half-day tour for a focused 4-hour introduction covering the medina's greatest sites, or the full-day tour for an unhurried deep dive that also takes in the Pottery Village, Mellah, and a traditional lunch with the guide.
