2-Day Tour from Tangier: Chefchaouen and Asilah

2 Days · 1 Nights🚗 Private Tour📍 Tangier → Chefchaouen & Asilah📅 Available Year-round

Tour Overview

An overnight in Chefchaouen changes the visit entirely. Day-trippers see the town at its most crowded, mid-morning to mid-afternoon; staying over means the blue alleyways at golden hour and again at sunrise, largely to yourself, plus the short evening climb to the Spanish Mosque for a view over the whole medina as the light fades. This two-day loop takes in Chefchaouen properly, then returns to Tangier by way of Asilah, so the Rif Mountains and the Atlantic coast both make the itinerary.

Tour Highlights

  • A full day and overnight in Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of the Rif
  • Ras el-Maa waterfall and the old wool-washing quarter
  • Sunset and sunrise light over the blue medina from the Spanish Mosque viewpoint
  • Asilah's Portuguese ramparts and mural-covered medina on the return leg
  • Overnight in a traditional riad inside the Chefchaouen medina
  • Private vehicle and driver-guide for both days
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off in Tangier

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day1

Day 1

Tangier → Chefchaouen

Morning departure from Tangier and a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Check in to your riad and spend the afternoon walking the medina with your guide: Plaza Uta el-Hammam and the 15th-century Kasbah, the octagonal-minaret Grand Mosque, and the Ras el-Maa spring where the old tanning and wool-washing quarter still operates. Free time to wander the blue lanes on your own before a short climb up to the Spanish Mosque for sunset views over the town and the surrounding Rif peaks.

Chefchaouen → Asilah → Tangier

An early walk through the medina in the quiet morning light before breakfast and checkout. Drive west to the coast and the seaside town of Asilah, where the afternoon is spent on the 15th-century Portuguese ramparts, the whitewashed medina, and the international murals left behind from the town's summer arts festival.
