Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Tangier: Gateway Between Two Continents
Explore Tangier: Cap Spartel at the junction of the Atlantic and Mediterranean, the sea-carved Hercules Caves, the Kasbah quarter and Dar el-Makhzen Museum, and the legendary Petit Socco cafe square. Evening dinner in the medina.
Day 2
Tangier to Chefchaouen via Tetouan
Stop in Tetouan, a UNESCO World Heritage medina founded by Andalusian refugees in 1492, preserving five centuries of Hispano-Moorish architecture and craft. Continue south into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Explore the Uta el-Hammam plaza, the 15th-century Kasbah, and the medina lanes.
Day 3
Chefchaouen to Fez via Volubilis and Meknes
Explore Chefchaouen in the morning. Drive south to Volubilis with its intact Roman mosaics, triumphal arch, and ancient olive presses. Visit imperial Meknes and the monumental Bab Mansour gateway before arriving in Fez.
Day 4
Full Day in Fez Medina
A full day in Fez el-Bali with a local licensed guide: the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine museum, the golden Royal Palace gates, the Chouara Tanneries from a rooftop terrace, and the Mellah Jewish Quarter.
Day 5
Fez to Casablanca via Rabat
Travel west to Rabat for the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Oudaya Kasbah. Continue south to Casablanca for an evening visit to the Hassan II Mosque, its soaring minaret floodlit over the Atlantic.
Day 6
Casablanca to Essaouira
Drive south through argan forests with a stop at a women's argan oil cooperative. Arrive in Essaouira, the Wind City of Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage medina. Explore the Skala Kasbah sea walls, the working fishing port, and medina lanes filled with art galleries and craftspeople.
Day 7
Essaouira to Marrakech
Drive inland from the Atlantic coast through argan forests and Berber villages to Marrakech. Explore the UNESCO-listed medina, the Majorelle Garden, and the legendary Jemaa el-Fna square for a final farewell to Morocco.
