Ascend the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m) — the highest paved mountain road in Morocco — with panoramic Atlas views extending in both directions. Stop at the ruins of Telouet Kasbah, the once-magnificent palace of Pasha Glaoui left to ruin after independence, where painted cedarwood ceilings and carved stucco salons dissolve slowly back into the earth. Visit Ait Benhaddou (UNESCO) — backdrop for Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia — and explore the six interconnected mud-brick kasbahs representing 1,500 years of caravan trade history.
