Women's Wellness Journey: 7 Days from Fez to Marrakech
Tour Overview
A private seven-day wellness journey designed for women who want to travel deeply, not just visit. Beginning in the ancient medina of Fez — hammam, zellige workshop, riad living — the journey moves south through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas to the Sahara at Erg Chebbi, where the silence of the desert at dawn is its own form of restoration. A home-cooked Berber family lunch, a women-run argan oil cooperative in the Atlas foothills, and a cooking class in a Marrakech riad kitchen complete a journey that is as much about connection as it is about discovery. Everything is private and entirely customisable to your group.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Fez — Riad Welcome & Evening Hammam
Your driver meets you at Fez–Saïss Airport and brings you to your riad in Fez el-Bali. After settling in, a gentle orientation walk through Bab Boujloud introduces the medina. As evening falls, your private hammam session begins — black beldi soap, kessa exfoliation, rhassoul clay mask from the Atlas Mountains, and an argan oil massage. The full ritual takes around ninety minutes and leaves you completely unwound. Dinner at the riad.
Day 2
Fez Medina — Al-Qarawiyyin, Tanneries & Zellige Workshop
A full day in the UNESCO medina with a licensed local guide. Al-Qarawiyyin university (859 AD), the Bou Inania madrasa with its carved cedar ceilings, the Chouara Tanneries viewed from above — a living scene unchanged since the Middle Ages. In the afternoon, a private zellige tilework session with a master craftsman inside the medina: you learn the geometry behind the patterns and hand-cut your own small panel to take home. The focus required by the work is itself meditative.
Day 3
Fez to the Sahara via the Middle Atlas
An early departure south through landscapes that change dramatically every hour. The alpine town of Ifrane with its cedar-shaded boulevards. The cedar forest at Azrou where Barbary macaques move freely among ancient trees. The Ziz Gorges — a 25-kilometre slot canyon through rose-pink limestone — and then the Saharan plain opening ahead with the first glimpse of the Erg Chebbi dunes on the horizon. Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon as the light turns the sand to amber.
Day 4
Sahara Day — Berber Family Lunch, Sunset Trek & Desert Camp
A morning at leisure to walk the dune edge or sit in silence with the desert. At midday, drive to a Berber family home for a genuine home-cooked lunch — flatbread baked in the sand, a slow tagine, fresh mint tea in the courtyard. An unhurried, real meal with a family who has lived here for generations. In the late afternoon, camels wait at the dune edge. The trek into Erg Chebbi at sunset — the light moving from gold to copper to violet across the sand — brings you to the luxury camp: private tents with proper beds, traditional dinner, live music around the fire, and the most unobstructed sky you have seen in years.
Day 5
Sahara Sunrise → Argan Cooperative → Dades Valley
Wake before dawn for the Sahara sunrise — the single most arresting natural moment of the journey, as the dunes shift from deep indigo through violet to brilliant gold in under twenty minutes. Return to camp for breakfast, then ride camels back to the road. Drive west through the pre-Saharan plains with a stop at a women-run argan oil cooperative in the Atlas foothills: the women here crack argan nuts by hand and cold-press the oil using traditional stone mills. You see the full process, taste the fresh oil, and buy directly from the source. Continue into the Dades Valley for the night.
Day 6
Rose Valley → Aït Benhaddou → Marrakech
Drive west through the Valley of the Roses — the source of the rose water used in Moroccan cooking and hammam rituals across the country. Stop at the UNESCO World Heritage ksar of Aït Benhaddou: a fortified city of earthen towers that has served as backdrop for Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 metres — Morocco's highest paved road — with snowcapped summits and vertiginous drops before the long descent into Marrakech.
Day 7
Marrakech — Cooking Class, Majorelle Garden & Departure
A final morning in Marrakech at your own pace: the Majorelle Garden — Jacques Majorelle's cobalt-blue studios and botanical oasis acquired by Yves Saint Laurent — is one of the most beautiful small gardens in the world, best visited early before the crowds. A morning Moroccan cooking class in a riad kitchen: market walk for spices and fresh ingredients, then hands-on preparation of a traditional Marrakech meal. You cook, you eat, you leave with the recipes. Private transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport. End of journey.
