Fez to Chefchaouen and Return — A Day in Morocco's Blue Pearl

Over the following centuries the blue spread from doorways and thresholds to entire buildings, stairways, paving stones, and flower pots — until today virtually every surface in the medina glows in shades of blue, creating one of the most visually consistent and photographed urban environments on earth. With your guide, explore the 15th-century Kasbah with its ethnographic museum and tranquil interior garden, the Uta el-Hammam central plaza lined with café terraces and the Great Mosque, and the winding staircase alleys that descend from the medina's upper quarters. Visit artisan workshops producing handwoven Rif-pattern wool blankets, natural-dye leather goods, and handmade ceramics. Hike up to the Spanish Mosque — a 20-minute walk above the town — for panoramic views over the blue-painted rooftops, the surrounding Rif Mountain peaks, and the valley below.
